Client Need:
In October 2001, CSS responded to an immediate threat of anthrax contamination in the State Department's worldwide mail processing and delivery system.
CSS’ Response:
CSS became advisor to the Inter-Agency Bio/Chem Committee established by the Department of State. Today, CSS provides comprehensive environmental safety and health services to embassies, consulates and posts worldwide. For its service, CSS won the “Small Business Prime Contractor of the Year” award from the State Department. In recognizing CSS, the State Department elaborated, "CSS consistently went above and beyond all expectations, responding to emergency needs for services and advice. During the initial life-threatening stages of the crisis, CSS President Jolanda Janczewski, Ph.D., personally dedicated her time and that of her senior environmental health experts to hours of strategy meetings with the Department Chem/Bio Task Force."

- Assessments of response, containment, public relations, sampling, testing, and technology
- Hazardous materials training in the safe and secure operation of motor pools for foreign nationals at overseas U.S. missions
