Client Need:
The NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) needed assistance with on-site safety management covering a range of services including occupational hazards, industrial hygiene and radiation.
CSS’ Response:
A complete team of CSS experts is now on-site and CSS is the safety management entity at Goddard providing comprehensive occupational safety, industrial hygiene and radiation protection. Our team consists of Certified Industrial Hygienists and safety professionals who oversee safety for some 3,500 NASA civil service personnel occupying 38 major facilities (3.4 million sq. ft.) of office, shop and laboratory space.

- Safety inspections
- Review of floor plans and engineering drawings for construction projects
- Emergency preparedness plans
- Investigations
- Developing and conducting ES&H training
- Integrated data management systems for safety data
- Air and water quality testing, respiratory protection, hearing conservation, personal protective equipment, ergonomics, asbestos, and prescription eyeglass programs
- Inspection of food preparation areas
- Testing and disposal of radioactive sources.
