U.S. Army / Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command

2004 Small Business Achievement Award

CSS won the 2004 Small Business Achievement Award from the Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command of the U.S. Army in recognition of our service to and performance for the Passenger Safety Inspection Program (PSIP). CSS inspects and monitors SDDC contract carriers transporting military personnel, property and supplies. CSS and the PSIP have been recognized as an exceptionally effective and efficient program by the SDDC, and are together a model for other programs in the U.S. Government and private sectors.

U.S. Department of State

2002 Small Business Prime Contractor of the Year

CSS provides comprehensive environmental safety and health services to embassies, consulates and posts worldwide. In October 2001, CSS responded to an immediate threat of anthrax contamination in the State Department's worldwide mail processing and delivery system. In awarding CSS its Small Business Prime Contractor of the Year Award, the State Department stated: "CSS consistently went above and beyond all expectations, responding to emergency needs for services and advice. During the initial life-threatening stages of the crisis, CSS President Jolanda Janczewski, Ph.D., personally dedicated her time and that of her senior environmental health experts to hours of strategy meetings with the Department Chem/Bio Task Force."

2002 Recognition for Webpage Development, Graphic Arts, and Technical Writing

CSS scientists and web-development staff created the "About NCBI" site, including all layouts, and much of the copy and graphic arts. The site: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/About/index.html targets the both the scientific and the public communities. The site has received numerous accolades, including:

CSS created and still maintains a transportation safety inspection program that has eliminated the use of high-risk contract carriers to transport our nation's military personnel, property and supplies.
